Data Distribution Service is the real-time publish-subscribe middleware standard used in defence systems, autonomous vehicles, robotics, and industrial control architectures — and its security profile, DDS-Security, defines the authentication, access control, and encryption layer that Zero Trust principles must extend to these high-throughput, low-latency data buses. NATO, the US DoD, and automotive OEMs are increasingly mandating DDS-Security compliance for mission-critical and safety-critical systems that cannot tolerate the latency of conventional security proxies.
